7.1 Introduction
The Mobility management (MM) sublayer exists between the MS and the MSC. MM
messages are relayed transparently through the BSS.
MM functions can be divided into three groups:
· MM Common Procedures
· MM Specific Procedures
· MM Connection Management Procedures
The Common procedure group can be again sub-divided into two areas:
· Network initiated Common Procedures
· MS-initiated Common Procedures
